I have been saving this conversation that I had with Mr Ong for quite sometime ago. Now that he has left ODAC. He wants me to tell all of you:
"Everyone needs to start small, because I have been through every step of the way... I roughly know what is the averate JC1 students' strength and stamina... What you people can accomplish... Then the only thing is gotta push you people to do it because I know you all can. The question is how to get there... and I know that when you all finally achieve it... You'd feel very good about it. That's why ODAC's motto is 'Challenge Your Limits'... What you didnt know, you wouldn't miss. The next batch of students will just think that whatever new ideas come up next year shall just be as fun" -Mr Ong
With that,
Lets thank him for his service, love and dedication to ODAC as we welcome the new ODAC-teacher-in-charge coming January 2008 as we remain under the care of Ms Seah, or should I say Mdm Seah. LOL.
-Daniel K.

There will be cycling practising sessions for ODACians everyday from 1.30-4.30. This is because, Mr Ong is not free due to A levels invigilation and he only wish to assess those who are prepared and to get you people prepared, i organised these sessions.Attendance is not compulsory. You can wear any attire you like as long as it is related to NYJC
All you need to do is to lock the bicycle outside store if your bike is not in the store, if your bike is in the store, you just wait for me to open the store.
NYODACians please understand that we have limited time nowadays, Mr Ong may leave at the end of the month. If we do not complete this any sooner we will have to scrape the cycling plan. It is time for you all to take initiative, I hope to see some of you again whether you pass or not because you took a long time to produce a pass in cycling.
If you think you are not capable in cycling on road and your name is not here, feel free to join us. It is not a PT session, it is not official.
I hope to see these people for at least 2-3 of the sessions.
I will not be taking attendance.

NYODACians I hope that within your own free time, please train up for cycling and swimming for those who are weak in either of them. Cycling PT has been rather slow in process. Due to safety purposes, we need to go through what we are going through now.
As for swimming, you all need to be water proficient so that we can take up watersports and we can come up with more activities when we have more skills. For those who can't swim, your target is to swim 20laps continuously and tread for 10min.
Our group is too big, so I will not delay because of the minorities. So lets work hard together. If any of you need help in any aspect, just look for anyone in ODAC, we will make the necessary arrangements for you.
Reminder, if you find yourself in a situation whether it is personal or it is regarding ODAC, or if you have any comments on how we can improve our PT sessions which I know is getting rather boring, please do not hesitate to tell me. I need more ideas.
Remember NYODAC is never complete with just you or me, it is US that matters. I may be the president of ODAC, but I am nothing when I do not have you people's support so help me to make NYODAC even better!
Daniel Khoo
-President of 5th ODAC.

History
NY ODAC was established in 1978 and was formerly known as OAC. The motto of OAC was
"The experience is YOURS".
During that time, OAC focused more on discipline and was more regimental as compared to the current ODAC. Mrs Koh was the teacher-in-charge then.
Furthermore, 4 marine groups, namely Blue Whale, Dolphin, Marlin and Stingray were initiated in the early years of OAC.
In 2003, Mr Thaddeus Lawrence took over the 1st ODAC. The 1st ODAC is also known as the 25th OAC and has a strength of about 20.
Mr Lawrence took part in the Sahara Desert Run in July 2009.
The motto of ODAC is
"Challenge your limits". As an odacian,we strive to explore and push our limits, be it physically or mentally, especially when participating in outdoors activities.
In addition, all odacians adhere to the following 8 qualities:
Commitment
Determination
Discpline
Integrity
Responsibility
Nature Appreciation
To have Adventurous Spirit
To be a good team player
In 2004, Mr Ong Jiun Hoe and Ms Yap Chiew Ring joined ODAC. ODAC engages in both land and water activities.
In 2005, Ms Lynette Poh joined the ODAC family, leaving in 2006.
In 2006, Ms Seah joined us and assisted Mr Ong in running the club, both stepping down in 2007.
In 2010, Mr Ong came back and together with the newly joined teachers, Mr Loy Suan Hui and Ms Chim Yi Hui, they run the club together.
In 2011, Ms Tan Shuyun, Ms Tan Yi Zhen Sherilyn and Mr Gurmit took over Odac.
NY ODAC has participated in various competitions which include the Adventure Race Singapore, Adventure Trail Challenge
and annual Vertical Marathon. Moreover, ODAC also participate in other activities such as the Outdoor Training Camps, Night Cycling and De Urbanised Traverse.
In 2012, Ms Tan Shuyun left the odac family, and Mr Gilbert Tay joined in.
In 2014, Mr Gilbert Tay left the odac family, and Mr Terence Lin joined in. Together with Mr Gurmit and Ms Tan Yi Zhen, they run the club.
