I hope all ATC participants have a good rest. =)
Well, a commendable effort put in by most of us in ATC, although, the results are far, FAR from what we desired. I hoped you all had a great experience and fun in this competition, explored your limits and really place your "mind over body". Make this a fruitful race to learn from. Although we did not win anything, I really hope that one day I will see 5th NY ODAC batch up on stage holding up the trophy high and proud. Be it in any competition, our yearly VM, whatever you all take part in, strive to win! Perhaps this will be the last competition the J2s will be taking part in the name of NY ODAC. The name of NY ODAC and how other jcs will see NY ODAC as is now up to you guys. Your every action tells them everything.
Its also great to see you guys making friends with other jcs after the competition, congratulating them, etc. After all, we all are fellow ODACians who love outdoors. Perhaps in the near future you can initiate joint activities with these jcs. However, always have in mind that in competitions, all of us are rivals. Besides that, we are all friends =D.
A piece of advice from me, and other j2s as well. Start your trainings now. I mean, after the mid years. Its useless if you only start weeks before the competition. The body doesn't work this way. In ODAC, we train all parts of the body. Of course, the most important is stamina for you to sustain long distance, your thigh muscles, shoulder muscles and followed by other parts. If you aim to win in future competitions, you need to start pushing your body now. Maybe it would be good for you to find out and review how other jcs train, or look at our own db people train.
Also, some things for you to think about ATC. I will not initiate any ATC debrief, but you can initiate among yourselves if you want to. Or you could post them here.
1) What have you done well in ATC?
2) What is it that you could have done better?
3) What will you do to improve yourselves?
4) What is one important value/quality that you take away from ATC?
5) Any other thoughts?
I hope you guys strive to win future competitions, especially VM. Whatever you take part in, don't just think of the goodie bag, fun or the experience. Think BIG. Think about the prizes as well ($$$). If other jcs can, why not NY ODAC?
I see potential in the 5th ODAC batch. I see many ironkids! , but there's still a long way. Unleash them. Force them out. The j2s are stepping down so there's nothing much we can do, except providing advice. You are on your own and its your choice to whether or not to win and carry NY ODAC name high. With the strength of the current 5th batch, you can achieve much more than what we have achieved.
Before you even think of winning, train hard. Start early.

History
NY ODAC was established in 1978 and was formerly known as OAC. The motto of OAC was
"The experience is YOURS".
During that time, OAC focused more on discipline and was more regimental as compared to the current ODAC. Mrs Koh was the teacher-in-charge then.
Furthermore, 4 marine groups, namely Blue Whale, Dolphin, Marlin and Stingray were initiated in the early years of OAC.
In 2003, Mr Thaddeus Lawrence took over the 1st ODAC. The 1st ODAC is also known as the 25th OAC and has a strength of about 20.
Mr Lawrence took part in the Sahara Desert Run in July 2009.
The motto of ODAC is
"Challenge your limits". As an odacian,we strive to explore and push our limits, be it physically or mentally, especially when participating in outdoors activities.
In addition, all odacians adhere to the following 8 qualities:
Commitment
Determination
