Hello ppl. It's me. Again.
Disclaimer: the quote in Chen Hui's post was not by me, as he said so. It was by David Bedford.
Ok nvm. I'm here to provide some information on 2 upcoming races that's coming up. I think most of you guys haven't participated in externally organized running races before and these races would be quite good opportunities .
1)Mizuno Wave Run 2007 (22th July 2007)The Mizuno Wave Run is a annual event held by Mizuno(duh). Last year it was held at Kovan and racers just kinda ran around in the heartlands. This year it's going to be held at Bedok Reservoir. There's the Fun and Competitive cats, 5km and 10km respectively. I can't seem to find any info online, but I'll try to get some brochures for you guys. Fundamentally this is just any 5/10km run cause the trail at Bedok is pretty flat all along, but the terrain can suck quite cos it's all pebbles, mud and gravel. (I ran the same route is another New Balance race and by the time I ended, the shoes were all wet and my calf and shorts were dotted with mud spots at the back.) But it'll be a good experience in a sense that you all will be able to see the real runners- as in people who run for a living and how strong people are outside.
For now, what I know is that registration is $20 with a shirt and bag. Yep.
[EDIT] The info is in today's Straits Times, Life section page 13.
2)NIE Director's Relay Run 2007 (3rd - 4th August 2007)I think this is very interesting. But I haven't done this before. The link is
here.
The NIE Director's Relay Run 2007 is a relay race of a team of 6, but I'm not sure on the gender restrictions. What happens is this team of 6 will run for 12 hours, basically through the night.
Really.
Ok what really happens is the 6 runners will run loops of 4.5km. Meaning, runner 1 will go on the loop and when he comes back, he stops and runner 2 goes. This goes all the way to runner 6 and when he finishes, runner 1 goes again. And this repeats for 12 hours. Feels very challenging to me.
Registration is $120/TEAM, which boils down to $20 per pax.
~
Yep, that's all the info I have on upcoming races. Some of you might be interested, some of you might not be, but the past races I took part in gave me a lot of experience in running. In a way, they also serve as a form of motivation to train.
For the previous post about Tuesday's run, it's not going to be more than 15km. Relax. At most, 12. And if armstrong is going, we're all going at his pace. =) Other than that, I just wanna reiterate Roy's point, pls continue to train hard for upcoming competitions. I hope with the current strength and enthusiasm of the 5th Odac, the next VM awards will be yours.

Pls don't forget to study!

History
NY ODAC was established in 1978 and was formerly known as OAC. The motto of OAC was

During that time, OAC focused more on discipline and was more regimental as compared to the current ODAC. Mrs Koh was the teacher-in-charge then.
Furthermore, 4 marine groups, namely Blue Whale, Dolphin, Marlin and Stingray were initiated in the early years of OAC.
In 2003, Mr Thaddeus Lawrence took over the 1st ODAC. The 1st ODAC is also known as the 25th OAC and has a strength of about 20.
Mr Lawrence took part in the Sahara Desert Run in July 2009.
The motto of ODAC is
"Challenge your limits". As an odacian,we strive to explore and push our limits, be it physically or mentally, especially when participating in outdoors activities.
In addition, all odacians adhere to the following 8 qualities:
