ATC
-;
I'm glad to see the enthusiasm in the 5th ODAC batch. Keep this going! The seniors will be proud of you.
I hope you all, especially the ATC teams have been training
YOUSELF. As you all have observed, land trainings are slacking down alot due to increasing water PTs. If you look back, in a week, each of you only have two SHORT trainings in ODAC. Monday, a 2.4km run (which is definately not enough for you to survive in ATC, let alone win something) and your own group trainings. If you have not been training yourself, then i would say your participation is only for experience sake. Yes the J2s may not have prepared you adequately for the race and I hope this post do not pull you morale down but instead to make you realise the importance of trainings to win competitions.
And for those who have been training
hard outside official ODAC and groups trainings, perhaps you gonna be the first... 10-20 teams? to finish the race. And mayb catch up with
roy in the race?
Haha roy's a lengend.
ok i think I crapped too much.
Next tuesday, me, JJ, roy and mayb sun leng will be running long distance at 5pm, after the outdoor cooking. Initially I wanted to make this compulsory but on second thought, I won't. It may be too late for some of you to train now but do come for this gives you a little experience of how you will actually be feeling during the actual race. Especially to all ATC teams its
strongly encouraged that you join us for the run. Others are allowed to join as well. We will be running at least 15km. The distance may increase up to 20km. Yes dun open your mouth wide and stare at this post. ATC is 40 over km. So come and challenge your limits.
And, take note that most likely we will all follow Jia Jie's pace, since he may be the one leading the route. So be prepared.
Attire: Any sports attire
Time: 5pm
Place: Store
Don't forget. In NY ODAC, its not about you. its about
us. Train together as one team, one club and show others what we together are made of.
Here's a quote by Jia Jie to let you and me know how little we run.
"Running is a lot like life. Only 10 percent of it is exciting. 90 percent of it is slog and drudge."David Bedford, English distance runner who sometimes ran 200 miles a week in training.200 miles a week! Which means he runs about
40km a day . In other words, he completes a marathon everyday. So how long did you run in a day?

History
NY ODAC was established in 1978 and was formerly known as OAC. The motto of OAC was
"The experience is YOURS".
During that time, OAC focused more on discipline and was more regimental as compared to the current ODAC. Mrs Koh was the teacher-in-charge then.
Furthermore, 4 marine groups, namely Blue Whale, Dolphin, Marlin and Stingray were initiated in the early years of OAC.
In 2003, Mr Thaddeus Lawrence took over the 1st ODAC. The 1st ODAC is also known as the 25th OAC and has a strength of about 20.
Mr Lawrence took part in the Sahara Desert Run in July 2009.
The motto of ODAC is
"Challenge your limits". As an odacian,we strive to explore and push our limits, be it physically or mentally, especially when participating in outdoors activities.
In addition, all odacians adhere to the following 8 qualities:
Commitment
Determination
Discpline
Integrity
Responsibility
